Apple Distinguished Educators
Overview
The Apple Distinguished Educator (ADE) program is a relationship program focused on educational excellence and leadership. ADEs are members of a select group of K-12 and Higher Education professionals possessing an identified expertise in educational technology leadership. This group of over 1500 educators spans the globe with membership in the USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Latin America, and Asia.
Who, when & where?
We work with a large number of talented ADEs who's specialist skills vary from animation in Primary to professional DV editing in HE. Most of the ADEs we use are practicing teachers with years of experience, many of whom travel extensively and often work directly with Apple.
The most likely place to find an Apple Distinguished Educator is at your local Regional Training Centre. We work in partnership with a network of training centres throughout the south delivering regular free training and hands-on workshops for teachers and technicians. However, we can also arrange for an ADE to visit your school and run workshops with your teaching staff and even involve your students too.
CrunchEd productions
CrunchEd Productions was set up by four ADEs who work very closely with the education team at Apple UK. They provides bite-sized video tutorials on popular educational applications, helping teachers maximise the use of technology in and out of the classroom. Current themes include; scoring music in Garageband & Logic, creating podcasts using Keynote & iLife, exploring the work of famous artists using iMovie, animation, encouraging singing and MFL speaking and listening.
