What is iStudent?

iStudent is a complete acquisition and finance programme for educational establishments: schools, academies, and universities. For simplicity we’ll refer to all of them as ‘schools’ for now. iStudent allows parents and students to acquire fully insured IT equipment without exposure to damage or loss. Schools may also fund devices using a managed service to collect contributions from parents and students.  

iStudent is a tailored solution that allows leasing to students, minimising a schools expense by sharing the cost of acquisition. Through this option, the school leases computers and charge participating students a monthly or quarterly usage fee. The amount of the fee is up to the school, in effect the school is passing along low-cost education pricing and borrowing power, to the entire student population.  Because iStudent is bundled with an equipment protection plan that includes accidental damage, loss protection and misappropriation* cover, if a machine is lost or stolen during the lease period, it’s fully covered.

*Misappropriation cover assists the school to mitigate some of the risk.  If a parent defaults, absconds or just generally disappears with the device, this cover can be used to pay off the outstanding rentals due.
